We called to confirm our booking, and the woman who answered was extremely rude. She asked, “who are you” and wouldn't even confirm we were speaking with the hotel, then insisted we give our information first. She questioned whether we'd booked properly and hung up on us. We cancelled and found somewhere else. Avoid!

The owner knows the area and town well, and suggested several places to eat and visit. Every one was fantastic. The location is excellent too, with everything an easy walk away. Our room was great, fresh, spotless and well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. Nosh and Nod is excellent value for money. My wife and I will definitely stay there next time we're in York, hopefully soon. Thank you, Nosh and Nod!

It was very quiet and close to town, so we walked everywhere. Our room was clean and well appointed, and the shower was better than at home, where we have terrible water pressure. Kerry was very friendly, and her staff member Mary Ann was lovely and so helpful. The whole stay went smoothly from beginning to end. Thank you, Nosh and Nod, for a wonderful week.

The bed was comfy, the shower was good, and parking was easy. The room itself was good too, but several lights didn't work, and nobody answered the phone when we arrived. The spa would be hard to get into if you weren't very fit. I asked about a slightly later checkout, but there was no flexibility at all, 10 a.m. was final.

Check-in and checkout were very easy, handled remotely, and the location was good. The room was well kept, simple, and just as advertised, which was what I expected. The walls are a bit thin, and a few dishes weren't completely clean, but we managed.
