Getting into the hotel was a headache because roadworks were happening right outside, and we spent an hour waiting for someone to show us the entrance. It’s worth contacting them beforehand for directions. The construction also blocked much of the balcony view. Once we were in, things were pretty good. We got a free upgrade to a balcony room, the receptionist was enthusiastic and answered all our questions, and breakfast was decent. There’s no lift, though the receptionist helped carry one of our bags.

Agha and the two women at reception were especially friendly and helpful. We had a very comfortable stay, and the location was great.

My daughter was unwell after our trip from Gabala to Baku, which made the check-in problem especially upsetting. The receptionist kept putting us off and saying they couldn’t find our Agoda reservation, even though the hotel had confirmed it on WhatsApp before we travelled. We showed them that confirmation and sent proof, but they still wouldn’t validate the booking. It seemed they wanted us to book again at their regular rates. The staff kept making excuses and trying to upsell instead of sorting it out. It felt like a scam, with a confirmed booking denied when we arrived so they could charge more. I found the hotel unreliable and dishonest, and wouldn’t recommend booking here if you want a smooth stay in Baku.

The location is good, but we had booked online expecting to pay by credit card and were told to pay cash instead. Our room wasn’t cleaned, and someone went in without our permission. I noticed a balcony chair had been taken away and the balcony door was left open. Breakfast was included, but we only tried it once because we didn’t like it. There’s no elevator, so you have to carry all your luggage upstairs. I also noticed the woman who cleaned and cooked never changed her clothes.

The hotel is in a beautiful area. For the price, I think it’s the best option, and it has room to get even better.
