Promenade Inn

We had to cancel and find somewhere else around midnight after nobody came to clean the apartment, despite finally reaching someone at Promenade Inn and being told help would come. Our first calls got no answer, and we still haven't heard back about getting our money returned. The apartment was also filthy, with hair in and around the bed and crumbs on the floor, and the towels were kept in a basket with a toilet paper holder. It looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for a while. The place is central, but sits just behind a very loud party street, which wasn't mentioned beforehand and made it impossible to rest. I'll keep posting reviews until we get our money back.

There was no way to reach reception by phone, and it didn't seem to be staffed at all, so nobody was available to help. The room itself was appallingly dirty, as if it hadn't been cleaned in months. Hair from different people covered the floor, dust was everywhere, and used cups and wrappers were left around. The bathroom was grimy too, with a dirty sink and towels thrown about. A very uncomfortable, disappointing stay.

They agreed to let us leave the day after we arrived and only charged for the night we actually spent there, which was fair. But when they defended the missing things by asking what we expected for the price, I wanted what had been promised and a clean bed. If something isn't provided, it shouldn't be listed. Tourists shouldn't have to investigate local prices first. The booking description didn't match the room: no freezer or minibar, bath accessories, water bottles, or bedside lamp bulbs. We booked a king-size bed and got a small regular one. Breakfast wasn't included, as they had also stated. There was just one large towel for two of us, and the towels were very rough. A sign in the toilet even asks ladies not to remove makeup with them, but if the promised bath supplies had been there, people wouldn't need to. We ended up removing both makeup and skin with those towels. The room wasn't clean either, with curly hair on the bathroom floor and by the side of the bed. I hope it was head hair. No one meets you, so you have to figure out how to get in, and you need internet to message them. The building's branding is barely visible outside, which makes the entrance hard to find.

There are a lot of stairs to get to the hotel, and the front and hotel doors had no locks, only the room doors did. The room safe had a four-number code instead of six, so it didn't feel very useful. It was also licked when we arrived.
