Rooms Museum

The listing gave us a very misleading picture of the place. This is one bedroom in an old two-bedroom apartment, and on arrival it felt like someone’s small home, not a hotel. The facilities seemed closer to two-star accommodation than the advertised three stars. There’s no reception or designated parking, and check-in means arranging an exact time to meet the owner nearby, then giving your details and paying cash. We booked a room with a private bathroom, but it’s outside the bedroom, off the shared passage. It has its own key, though that’s the only sense in which it’s private. The room is so cramped that sitting on the toilet puts you against the wall and under the sink. There was just an uncomfortable single spring bed, or two singles in a twin room, with a pillow, sheet and blanket. No towels, soap or other basics. It’s noisy around the clock, the bedroom never gets fully dark, and the walls are so thin you can hear someone in the other bedroom snoring or using the bathroom. Bring earplugs. You can risk street parking, but might get a ticket. We wish we’d chosen an Airbnb or an actual hotel or hostel, even if it meant a longer walk to the bus station. That would have been a more pleasant, straightforward stay with a more accurate description. We felt hoodwinked by this listing.
