Long Beach Hotel

The location was convenient for exploring the sea, with good views. It felt like good value and exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spacious, bright and quiet, with comfortable beds and blackout curtains. They were tidy and fresh, and the bathrooms were spotless. There were good dining options and an impressive breakfast selection, including bacon and fresh fruit. Amenities included a good spa, pools, fitness centers, reliable Wi-Fi and quality toiletries. Staff were friendly, attentive, flexible and efficient.

The only decent thing we ate was the soup. I spent over 3,100 BDT expecting a good meal, but the food tasted bad, and the fried rice smelled unpleasant, almost stale. It didn’t seem freshly cooked, and there was very little of it. The chicken and beef curry portions didn’t match the 1:1 ratio they’d described. It was closer to 2:1, so a lot of curry went to waste. We’d ordered two basil chicken dishes, basil beef with fried rice, and Thai fried chicken. They forgot the Thai chicken at first. The meal felt like throwing 3,000 BDT away, and I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The manager was professional and polite, and said they’d call me later, though I don’t know when.

The front desk refused us a room even though there was availability. We arrived for a walk-in booking in our own car, had identification and baggage, and were ready to use the hotel’s parking. But staff said walk-in guests needed “luggage,” meaning a visible suitcase or trolley, and that our baggage didn’t count. I found this rule confusing and unreasonable. With our IDs, a personal car, secured parking and CCTV, refusing a room just because we had no suitcase made no sense, especially for a hotel calling itself five-star. It felt like a rigid, outdated assumption rather than professional hospitality. The facilities may be good, but the front desk policy and guest handling need serious improvement.

We had a great stay and there were no hidden charges. The staff were kind, the rooms were clean, and the food was excellent, though expensive, as we expected in Cox’s Bazar. We also appreciated the free car service. I’d recommend the hotel.
