Hotel Oriental was peaceful and quiet during my 2-day stay, and I found it a good place for families or couples looking for a calm stay in Sylhet. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were attentive. I had a wonderful experience and recommend it if you want a relaxing atmosphere. It also offers strong value for budget travelers. A single person can stay for just 500 Taka, and prices stay the same even on major Bangladeshi holidays like Pohela Boishakh, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha. The hotel has good walkability and a convenient private elevator system, with what felt like genuine hospitality and honesty.

The hotel room itself was completely good, but the office person's behavior wasn't. The manager treated us very poorly. I felt he was unethical and didn't know how to speak to people. He asked lots of unnecessary and irrelevant questions, and without us doing anything wrong, requested many things that weren't needed. He seemed to be trying to provoke us for no reason, because my wife was there.
