Hotel Lucca

It’s easy to walk from this centrally located hotel to all the attractions in Bruges. The staff were really nice, and the rooms were gorgeous and spacious, with a great bathroom and excellent beds. What a charming place. Highly recommended!

There was quite a bit of renovation work going on, and it was very noisy, starting at 8h30 am. This is a small, private hotel with seven rooms in Bruges old town, in a good location. My room was large and nice, though half the lamps didn’t work. The safe box wasn’t working either, its door wouldn’t lock.

The location was a highlight, especially with the bus stop for the train station just a few steps away. I felt very well looked after, and this place was the highlight of my trip. The owner was always at the front desk and very helpful. I arrived earlier than expected, but they still helped me, gave me a map with a good route to the important landmarks, and suggested better food options. They also told me when to be ready for breakfast and helped carry my luggage to the room.

The breakfast had a great range of bread, cheese, meats, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and juice. The room was huge, with plenty of space for me, my spouse, and our two children, and it had a small fridge. The bathroom was perfect, with a rainfall shower head. Our windows looked onto the street, but it wasn’t noisy. The hotel is on the quiet north side of the city, yet just a few minutes’ walk from shopping and restaurants. Hans greeted us warmly when we arrived. He marked the places we wanted to see on a map and added some recommendations. We’ve stayed at modern and classic hotels around the world, and this was by far our family’s best hotel stay. Hans was a great host, and I’d give the hotel more than five stars if I could. If you’re unsure where to stay, don’t look any further. Stay here!
