We had six people sharing a room, but only three or four plugs, which was inconvenient. Luckily my roommates were nice and we took turns. The beds and rooms were clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was pretty decent, with a separate network on each floor. Public transport and the location were convenient. Customer service was average, nothing special but nothing to complain about.

My room wasn’t very large, but the low price made the stay worthwhile, and I was glad I chose it. Es Hostel is close to the main station, with a large hall and lots of rooms. It’s a cheap, well-located option for a budget trip to Brussels.

The front desk staff were polite and spoke English very well, and the location was decent, around a 20-minute walk from the Grand Place. The setup was rough, though: six people in a room with just three outlets, and one bathroom shared by 18 guys. Its door didn’t lock.

The beds and pillows were good, but the hostel setup felt focused on fitting in as many beds as possible. There wasn’t the storage space or kitchen or kitchenette that backpackers and other travellers may expect. The service was poor, and the toilet door lock didn’t work.

The staff were polite, and the price was among the cheaper ones. My room was dirty, though, and had just one AC outlet for four beds. Next time I’m definitely spending a bit more somewhere else.
