Hôtel b&b St Maria

The neighborhood felt unpleasant and unsafe, and when we came back that evening we didn't feel safe walking through it. Someone was sitting right in front of the door. It turned out to be another guest who hadn't received check-in instructions, like the couple we saw waiting outside when we left. We had only got our own instructions while standing at the entrance, even though I had messaged a few hours before arrival. The building is basically a multi-story house with very narrow stairs and individually rented rooms. There's a shared kitchen downstairs, and the bathroom is outside the room across the hallway in the common area.

I booked this place through VRBO at the last minute and stupidly forgot to check the reviews here. The host never responded to messages. After reading the other reviews, I'm glad they didn't. This place is a scam. I ended up staying at the beautiful MotelOne instead.

The room was humid and very noisy, and the sheets were ripped and dirty. The store didn't close. I only got the instructions for entering the building after I called them.

The room is roomy, and the place is well located near several bus stops and the North Station. A couple more pillows would have helped a lot. The kitchen is shared, so it can be an issue when other guests leave it unclean. There's also barely any kitchen equipment, with only three forks for everyone.
