Juliana Hotel & Spa - Brussels Centre

We loved our first visit to Brussels. Ophelia at the desk was incredibly helpful, and everyone we dealt with, from the restaurant team to housekeeping, was responsive and kind. The breakfast buffet had loads of fresh, tasty choices, and we enjoyed dinner at the hotel on a couple of nights as well. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches. The fitness room is small but ample. A great base for walking to many places, with a personal, enjoyable feel.

Pierre, the concierge, gave us great suggestions, including Waterloo and the car museum, which really added to my Brussels trip. I was here on a recent business visit, and everything went smoothly. The hotel is beautiful, with spacious rooms and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve had, even though I travel often for work. The gym, pool, and two saunas were in great shape and seemed almost new. Shops, restaurants, and rail links are nearby, and valet parking was very convenient. I’d stay again on my next trip.

Hotel Juliana Brussels feels like a quiet, refined retreat, even though it’s right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is elegant and unhurried, and it’s easy to relax here. Compared with other peaceful experiences I’ve had, including Saunadelizia, this works well as a comfortable city escape with a discreet feel.

I arrived on the night of 1 December to a freezing room. The window had been left open even though it was 4°C outside, and the heating wasn’t working at all. Later I learned the hotel already knew there were ongoing heating problems, yet they still charged me €200 as a guarantee for a room I’d prepaid for and that clearly wasn’t in acceptable condition. Reception said they hoped the heat would come back soon. Their only offer was another room for one night, with the explanation that I’d have to move again the next day. Rather than deal with another disruption late at night, I stayed in the cold and hoped it would be fixed by morning. Nothing had changed the next day. I complained again and asked them to repair the heating or give me a proper room. They eventually brought a portable radiator, but never apologized for the discomfort or how badly they handled it. This was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I’ve had. For a place in this price range, the service was unacceptable. I strongly warn other guests to check the heating before paying or staying overnight. My experience was far below a reasonable standard.
