Smartflats Design - La Gaite

I was here for work and was shocked. At first glance things look clean, but it doesn't take much to see what a dump this is. There was hair everywhere that wasn't mine, and crumbs all over. The towels smelled like well-used dishcloths. The bathrooms had no soap, and the toilet and TV weren't working properly. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in, like a badly maintained youth hostel conversion. I complained, and someone came and just removed a clump of hair from the bathroom.

The apartment was a complete mess and nothing like the photos online, which look obviously photoshopped. The hallway was dirty, smelly, and sticky. Inside, it was only 15° Celsius. The couch was broken, sticky, and smelly, the wooden bowl on the table was broken, and the windows, walls, and floors were dirty. The walls were damaged too, there were spider webs, and some doors wouldn't close properly. The kitchen was dusty and dirty, and both the bathroom and toilet room were unhygienic. There was even a picture left on the bedroom floor that clearly should've been hanging on the wall. I strongly recommend avoiding this apartment.

The place seems to have had new furniture a few years ago, but the listing photos no longer match its current state. Apparently nothing has been repaired since then, and the elevator in the seven-story building wasn't working. Our flat was on the sixth floor. Several things needed fixing: two supports on the sofa bed were broken and held together poorly with hose ties, part of a curtain had come down, and the shower holder had been fixed amateurishly with cable ties. The bathroom door wouldn't shut because it caught on the upper frame. The faucet was badly calcified. The sofa bed and the mattress underneath were both covered in nasty stains, and the room's guidebook was absolutely disgusting, though replacing it would be easy. Repairs should happen immediately. Instead, they offered a discount on a future booking, which did nothing for our current problems. They were superficially friendly and answered complaints with empty reassurances, but didn't solve anything.

The water pressure was really low, and the internet never worked. I could connect to the Wi-Fi, but there was no connection, and even after I complained and they said they'd fixed it, nothing changed. The towels and sheets were torn and stained, and the walls had stains and were quite dirty too. The listing said the apartment had elevator access, but it was between two floors, so we still had to climb a bunch of stairs. That's not ideal with a baby stroller. The small living-room TV was awkward too. Its receiver just hung from the wall, so it couldn't pick up signals from the remote unless you improvised a stand. We were really disappointed.
