Yadoya Hotel

The bed was very comfortable, and although we stayed in Room 206 in the city center, street noise was manageable. The room was bright, clean, and had the basics, though the pillows could be better. We had a positive first visit to Yadoya Hotel. Its location worked well for us, with a Metro stop right outside and Brussels Noord, the shopping district, and major sights roughly a 15-minute walk away. My main complaint was that there was no complimentary bottled water in the room or water dispenser in the shared areas.

The towels seemed a little worn, and I think they should be replaced, having worked in a hotel myself. Still, we enjoyed our November 23-25 stay at Yadoya Hotel. It was clean and comfortable, and we really liked the complete breakfast, especially the waffle maker.

The rooms were clean, but that was the only good thing about our two days here. The staff's conduct was deeply disappointing and had clear elements of racism. The receptionist and other staff seemed to assume we couldn't understand French, then used mocking and offensive language about us. That's completely unacceptable in a hotel claiming to offer professional hospitality. The experience left a bitter impression despite the clean facilities. I wouldn't recommend the hotel or stay here again.

I was woken several times by the cold, even in the second room, which was only a little warmer than the first. Initially, the heating didn't work, and reception's only suggestion was another blanket, hardly enough for winter. The windows weren't sealed properly either, so traffic noise came through and cold air kept getting in. After I insisted more than once, they moved me to another room. Then in the bathroom, a plastic piece had come loose from the bathtub tap and cut my finger badly. I reported it, but got no compensation or goodwill for the injury or the lack of heating. The whole stay was extremely disappointing, and I won't return or recommend the hotel because of both the problems and how my complaints were handled.
