Getting around Bruges was easy: the bus stop is just past the bank and ATM down the street, and the pass the manager gave us at check-in had 14 Euro of credit. A staff member also explained that we could drive to the Station parking garage at the edge of town and then walk or take a bus into the center. The location was nearly perfect. We stayed one night as a family and had no complaints from arrival through checkout. I booked by phone and paid about 40% less than the rates on the hotel-finder sites. Parking behind the hotel was free, and everyone on staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. Our adjoining rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and had well-equipped bathrooms. The manager also gave us the standard hotel discount card for Brugge attractions. Breakfast had plenty of good-quality options, including bread, cold cuts, cheese, cereal, yogurt, bacon, scrambled eggs, juice, and milk. The Wi-Fi was secure and reliable.

We arrived at 21hrs on a Holy Friday to find the hotel closed, despite having a confirmed reservation. There was only a note on the door, written in Flemish and not even English. We couldn't reach anyone and had to find another hotel. Very unprofessional service.

We were there for three nights in the first half of May on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was adequate, but the rest was a letdown. Our room hadn't been cleaned in the evening. They said they'd sort it out, but nothing changed, and the same thing happened after the second night despite more promises. The toilet kept running too, and that never got fixed either. Not a very positive experience.

The terrace was very nice, and the rooms were okay. It's an ideal base for driving to Bruges. Inside the room, though, the information is very dated, and the whole hotel could use proper maintenance and a lot of freshening up.
