We were six people on a battlefield recce, and this Gite was a great base in the heart of Flanders Fields. Several important WW1 sites are within walking distance. The rooms were very comfortable, the surroundings quiet, and we all slept well. The place is finished to a very high standard, with excellent facilities: a huge, fully equipped kitchen, a good dining area, a comfortable lounge, BBC on the TV, and free wifi. Getting in was easy and there was good off-road parking. The owners were friendly, accommodating, and great to deal with. Highly recommended.

The hospitality from Nick and Ilse was hard to fault. We stayed with five friends while touring the battlefields, and this cottage made a perfect hideaway. Every room was superbly furnished and finished, and the kitchen had so much in it you could run a restaurant from there. We loved our stay and are already looking for dates to come back next year. A must-stay in the Ypres Salient.

We spent a weekend here with 12 friends, six couples, and six kids. The house was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The well-equipped kitchen was especially useful, and the children's toys were a welcome touch. It’s close to Ypres, other Great War historical sites, and Bellewaerde for the children.

There’s plenty to do nearby, and we’ll definitely be back. The beds were comfortable, there were lots of shower rooms and toilets, and the kitchen was brilliant. The owners were very friendly. Absolutely beautiful place.
