The pools and outdoor areas were a letdown. The pools did not seem properly cleaned, and stray dogs and birds drank from the pool and beach water while staff did nothing. Beach loungers were very uncomfortable unless we paid extra for better ones. We were on an all-inclusive stay, but both of us had ongoing stomach trouble from day two through the end of the holiday, often after meals. The restaurant food was generally tasty and there was plenty of choice, though there were no fresh fruits and the vegetables looked old and dry, so we stopped eating them. Our room was somewhat clean, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable, there was mold in the shower, and the building felt old. We also could not lock the room from inside, and using the safe cost extra, something nobody had told us about. It is hard to see how this meets a four-star standard. We arrived around 23:30 and found food in the room. It seemed thoughtful at first, until we saw the stale bread, dried tomatoes, and sticky cheese, which looked as if they had been left there for hours. Reception said they would bring us an iron, but after three days we had to ask again. Another staff member then simply handed it to us. Communication was difficult because only one employee seemed to understand English properly. Housekeeping was rude, could not communicate in English, and came in without knocking several times. Once they walked in while we were half-dressed to ask about refilling the minibar, which we had not used. They kept asking every day even after we said we did not want it. There were no Do Not Disturb signs, and cleaners woke us several times at 8:00 by unlocking the door and entering. We won't come back.
