Hotel Varosha

The staircase is lovely, but getting luggage up to the second floor is a real challenge, and there’s no lift or easier option. The location gives you a real feel for the town, and the prices are excellent. Staff are polite and helpful, and the place is clean and generally in good shape. Some rooms have a terrace overlooking a quiet courtyard and the historic district, so it’s worth asking for one. The TVs are very old and small, and the Wi-Fi router seemed overloaded, but otherwise it was a good stay.

Right in the old town Varosha, beside the covered bridge made by Kolyu Ficheto, and close to the fortress hill and a beautiful church. It’s a cozy, comfortable place and was nicely warm in winter. I’d recommend staying here.

The room was clean and roomy enough, with a large terrace, though it didn’t feel safe for children. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, and the bed was really uncomfortable: it was made from two single beds, with a wooden edge and a gap down the middle, so they couldn’t be used as one double.

There’s a little interior terrace where you can sit for coffee, and you can get nice views of the fortress. The rooms were clean and had air conditioning, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel sits in Lovech’s small historic center, just 10m from the entrance to the covered bridge. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
