Apartments Golden Dunes

I made a reservation request online and it was approved, then confirmed an hour later. I was told on the phone that someone would call to clear up a few uncertainties, but that call never came, so I had to phone them myself. During that conversation they had me cancel the online booking. A week later, when I arrived at the hotel, I expected the early check-in they'd promised over the phone and again at reception. They turned me away and said to wait a couple of hours, but it would have been TWELVE. Luckily I listened to my family and went straight to another hotel instead of wasting a day waiting. I'm disgusted.

The water was what made the beach so great for me: it was very clean, shallow, and had fun waves. The hotel isn't very close to the beach, but the walk is worth it, along a sandy dune path with nothing in between. There were only two rows of paid umbrellas, which were a little expensive for the small amount of shade, so it wasn't crowded. There's a beach bar nearby, though I haven't tried it yet. The pool was clean and had enough beds, which surprised me. Staff were super nice and ready to help. The place has new furniture, a well-equipped kitchen and spacious rooms for insanely low prices considering what you get. Don't expect a dishwasher or coffee machine, but the other things you need are there. The bath is a proper size, not one of those cat-cage-sized ones. I was in such a bad mood about the coast since we hadn't visited in ages, but a friend recommended this place, and even her praise didn't do it justice. I think this is the first place I've given five stars on the first day of my stay.

Just a few meters from the beach, with plenty of parking options. It's clean and pleasant, and the staff are really friendly and nice.

The place is clean and quiet, with good views and a convenient location close to both town and beach. A few room essentials would help, though. A hair dryer is a must, and a welcome pack with things like coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, milk and shower gel would be nice.
