Breza Hotel

The room I got was extremely cramped and small. After arriving, I checked what I’d booked on Booking and was surprised: the listing described a “big room, sauna, fitness and other facilities,” but what was there didn’t come close. The staff said this was their normal room. Picture a 140 cm wide bedroom with almost no room to walk between the bed and the wall in front of it. There was a 21-inch monitor on the wall, with extension cords bigger than the “TV.” The room and bathroom were dirty, with one 2g bar of soap and two 20ml bottles of shower gel. I was quoted 400 euros for four nights, from the 20th to the 24th of December, and booked three weeks before. When I checked prices on December 20, the same room for the same dates was being offered for 240 euros. Even their “Suite” was listed for 320 euros. I asked if I could move to a suite since I’d paid more and the room was so tight. I’d seen two suites available on Booking. The staff appeared to check on the computer for 20 minutes, then said they couldn’t do anything about my stay, without explanation or an attempt to address my discomfort. The gym barely qualified as one. I was told the sauna had to be booked with staff because it was so small they had to control how many people used it each hour. This was the most ridiculous experience I’ve had. We slept one night and tried breakfast, which was inedible, so I threw away half my plate. The coffee and lighting in the breakfast “restaurant” were depressing. No music, no air, just a ridiculous experience. There was absolutely nothing to like, including the staff and the offer they gave me.

The staff were nice and helpful, and the location sits between two major ski lifts. It’s a cool place to stay overall. The rooms are small but good for two, with a pretty comfortable bathroom. We had a view of the jacuzzis, though opening the window to cool the room brought in wood smoke. Breakfast was enjoyable, with classic sausages, mini croissants and cheeses. I didn’t leave hungry, and they tried other solutions when the coffee machine kept failing, which was nice, though not everyone got coffee. The jacuzzi was amazing when it was hot. It felt great on the first day, but was cold on the second and we couldn’t get in. On the third day, we covered half of it to let the steam warm the water, and sat there like sardines.

We only went to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and the food was excellent, so delicious! Breakfast had lots of options: English breakfast with top mushrooms, vegetables, cakes, basics, delicious pancakes and homemade jam. The staff were super friendly and professional. Must visit!

The rooms were good enough to sleep in, and I can’t complain about them unless management decides to put on loud music around 11 p.m. The food was okay. We mostly relied on translate, since there was probably only one person who understood some English.
