Apartments Carrera

We stayed for six nights and had a pleasant time. It's a nice, clean place, especially suited to families. The heater stopped working sometimes, but they fixed it right away the next day. Check whether parking is free: even when the booking says it's included, they may charge 15 lev per day.

I spent six months at Apartments Carrera, and staying there became one of the best parts of my Bulgaria trip. The neighborhood gave me a chance to experience local life, unlike staying at the Hilton. The apartments are comfortably furnished, with more space than a hotel room and for less money. The hosts are a pleasure, the front desk staff are very helpful, and everyone speaks great English.

The area is pleasant if you're working in Lozenets, and there's an elevator, but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. We were quoted one price and charged more, then billed for seven nights when we checked out after four. Our room was dated, and the apartment smelled strongly of cigarette smoke since smoking is allowed. The so-called kitchen was really just a kitchenette, with no space to actually cook. This is a two-star apartment rental.

The rooms are spacious and the staff are amazing. A great place.
