Ludmil made our first visit to Sofia special, sharing Bulgarian history over a different local breakfast each morning. The B&B was spotless and on a quiet side street, with a handy ground-floor location. We could easily reach the city’s main sights, and public transport was cheap and simple to use for a walk in the nearby mountains. There were good restaurants close by too. We’d happily come back. Thanks to Ludmil for hosting us.

Our host, Lucy, was so kind and helpful throughout our 4 days at Casa Ferrari. Each morning he made us Bulgarian pastries and breads, and sat with us to talk about the country’s history and culture. It was really interesting. The room was spacious and always clean, with a comfortable bed and en suite bathroom. We had a great stay and highly recommend it.

After nearly a month in Greece with my grandparents, staying here felt like a welcome break. Casa Ferrari is clean and cozy, with antique furniture, a private bathroom, and a location within walking distance of central Sofia. Ludmil, the owner and caretaker, has spent his whole life in Bulgaria and knows an incredible amount about the country. We paid him to take us to Rila Monastery, and along the way he shared entertaining, fascinating history about the monastery, Sofia, and Bulgaria. Since it was our first time in Sofia, he also gave us a map and ideas for exploring. That ended up being a highlight of my trip. I’ll definitely return when I can make the time and afford another trip from the States.

Ludmil met us when we arrived from the airport, and the apartment was very well kept. The bed and bathroom were in great condition. We especially enjoyed the Bulgarian breakfast he prepared, along with his stories about the country’s history. A fantastic B&B in central Sofia, highly recommended.

The host was very gracious, and the facilities were clean and complete. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, a short walk from the main historical sights, with good transport connections. Definitely recommend.
