Introvert Maria Luisa

The location is excellent, right on the main boulevard and close to everything. You can hear tram traffic inside, so it may bother people sensitive to noise, though I wasn’t too troubled by it. The rooms were as expected, but I really dislike the half-open shower cabin. Water gets everywhere and leaves the bathroom soaked. It needs a fix. I stayed four nights. Check-in can be fully contactless and online, but if you didn’t book directly, contact them and ask for the link. Free day lockers are handy too: after checking out, you can leave your bags and keep exploring until your flight. There’s a water dispenser and coffee machine in the lobby, which is nice, though it’d be better if coffee hours weren’t limited. The Wi-Fi cut out now and then, stopping data for a couple of seconds. That’s not a big issue for regular use, but it really gets in the way of video calls. They might need to check the access point settings. Good value for the price.

I’ve stayed in thousands of hotels over the years and never had bed bugs before. This time I was seriously bitten. I took photos and decided to share them. I told the nice man at reception, and hopefully the problem was dealt with for whoever came next. I won’t stay here again or at any other Introvert hotel. I mostly agree with the other reviews: the location is good and the accommodation reasonable. But the shower has no door, and the floor isn’t sloped to drain the water, so it stays wet. Walking in there during the night with wet feet was unpleasant.

The location was spot on, and the rooms were big, bright, and high-ceilinged, with nice decor and a large TV. Probably my favorite place from my six-week Euro trip. I’d absolutely stay here again if I came back to Sofia.

Getting into the Maria Luisa Hotel was easy: the building and room codes made self check-in quick and straightforward. It’s also well placed near restaurants and public transport, so getting around the city was simple. The room worked well for both resting and working. The bed was comfortable, the desk was good, the lighting was excellent, and there were plenty of outlets for charging devices. In the bathroom, hot and cold water both worked properly, with strong, steady pressure. I had a great stay and would choose the Maria Luisa Hotel again.
