Victory Apartments

The apartment quality was disappointing. The staff were super friendly and helpful, but we had very loud neighbors upstairs arguing at 3 at the morning, which made a lot of noise late at night.

Cobwebs, mold everywhere, and a moldy smell from the closets, sheets, beds and sofas. The building is in disrepair. My worst experience ever. Horrible!

We checked Booking, Expedia and Google Maps, where Victory Apartment Sofia appeared to have apartments available, so we went there. At arrival, we were told there were no apartments and they didn’t know why the sites showed availability. The woman at reception called around to find us another hotel, but then said everything was fully booked too. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I want future guests to know how this went. I booked two nights through Booking.com. When I got there, the building didn’t look like the pictures, though I didn’t mind much since I’d only be there two nights and planned to spend most of my time outside. They asked me to pay at the property, so I did. The room was the real letdown. Almost everything in the bathroom was broken or didn’t work, and the bedroom was disgusting. The wardrobe had dust, cobwebs and spiders. The receptionist was showing me the room when I raised it. She said, "Well, no one is using the wardrobe that's why there is dust". I told her dust meant it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, but she just looked at me strangely. After checking the rest of the room, I complained about all the problems and said I wouldn’t stay and wanted to cancel. They offered another room in the same condition, and by then I was fed up with their behavior, so I turned it down. Back at reception, the woman spoke to the Hotel Manager in Bulgarian. I speak the language really good, but prefer to use English, so they didn’t know I understood. He asked her in Bulgarian, "Were there really dust and cobweb" in the wardrobe? She said, "Yes, there were". He then told her to ask me to cancel through Booking and said they would refund me. I did that and left. After a lot of back and forth with Booking, I was told the Manager had decided not to return my money because he said what I reported wasn’t true and the room was clean (check screenshot). I’m not so concerned about the refund as I am about helping other people avoid this place and see what kind of scamming is happening here. I lost the money I paid, but I’m glad I didn’t stay in that disgusting place.
