Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain

The night-shift receptionist was helpful and professional. He moved me to another room, arranged to transfer my luggage, and offered a portable heater, which made things better. The attitude of the two local staff on the night shift was excellent. Still, the technical operations and quality control need serious improvement. I stayed three nights at Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain, and the experience fell short of five-star expectations. On the first night, the room was extremely cold. The FCU setpoint was around 15°C, couldn’t be switched off, and it was already about 5°C outside. That was uncomfortable and suggested poor energy and system management. I told reception straight away, then went out for dinner for about an hour. When I came back, nothing had been fixed, and there were strong food smells in both the room and corridor. The O&M contractor (Enova) came and manually closed the actuator, then asked me to wait another hour. That wasn’t acceptable in the circumstances. I went back to reception and asked to change rooms. I explained that when it’s cooler outside, the AC should simply be turned off, and that the earlier shift hadn’t followed up properly, using air freshener instead of addressing the actual problem. I was in good health before arriving, but after prolonged exposure to the very cold room, I developed influenza symptoms shortly afterwards, making the stay even more uncomfortable. It was disappointing that the hotel hadn’t checked basic HVAC comfort in advance. The parking area also looked poorly maintained and was partly being used for scrap or storage.

The breakfast had a good range, and service throughout felt smooth and professional. Staff were polite, helpful, and quick to answer requests. At Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept, and being connected to the mall was very convenient. I had a very good visit. It’s a good option for business or leisure, and I’d recommend it.

I’ve stayed here several times, and the service has been very good. Last time, though, reception said my Bonvoy app booking was for a twin room, even though the booking didn’t say that. When I pointed this out, she said they could give it to me but that I had booked a twin. The location is convenient, the prices are good, and the quality is nice. The rooms are nice too, but they need more care. I’d still recommend it.

We visit Bahrain 3-4 times a year, but because of the hotel's proximity to the mall, we sadly have to choose it. The only good part of this stay was the valet staff. Our room wasn’t ready until 5:30 pm, and there was loud banging outside the window in the morning that the hotel hadn’t warned us about. Breakfast service was abysmal again. At 8:30 am there was no breakfast tea, and when we called housekeeping, they didn’t answer at first. When they finally did, we were told, “This is a hotel with 250 rooms so we can’t be quick.” That response was unacceptable. The hotel had advertised, with a picture, that baby diapers and wipes were available on a card in the room. When we asked for them, the response was, “where did you see this / who told you”. This stay didn’t meet the standards we expected, and I hope these issues are taken seriously and addressed promptly.
