The St. Georg's Club

The harbor view was beautiful, and the room was nice. I did see a few odd bugs, but I guess that’s normal in a tropical place. Getting to the beach took a while, though we could walk there. The restaurant was closed even though the website said it was open, which was a hassle. There wasn’t any food or drink at the hotel. I also got tired of hearing that it was the off-season. It was 70-some degrees outside, and things should have been working.

The rooms were comfortable, roomy, clean, and pretty basic. But calling this a hotel feels off, it’s more like an Airbnb setup. There’s no room cleaning or room service, and no food or even vending machines. If you arrive late without groceries, you’re stuck if you want a snack that night. There’s nothing available for miles, and even the gas stations are closed.

The shuttle at St Georges club has a pretty limited route. It only goes to a few places, and those are all within walking distance anyway. Amenities are sparse too, there wasn’t even coffee in the lounge. Our room was spacious, clean, and updated. The setting is beautiful, with a view over St. Georges.

The town of St. George was a lovely place to walk around for groceries, with so much history. I enjoyed seeing the unfinished church, perfumery, town hall, narrow lanes, and cobblestone streets. The location itself was quiet and peaceful. Dee Dee was quick to respond when I emailed about needing a room that would work for one of my daughters, who unexpectedly ended up on crutches right before we left. She called straight away to go over the unit, stairs, and what we needed. Once we arrived, she’d chosen a room she thought would suit us best, and she was right. She even had the golf cart ready to take my daughter to the room. The pool was right outside, so the kids could get there easily. Staff also called taxis for us, and they arrived on time, and brought us extra blankets and basic supplies. We had a great stay at St George's Club. Thanks, Dee Dee. We’ll be back!
