Madero Hotel & Suites

Alejandro at reception really made the stay special. He was polite, helpful, and happy to go out of his way, from getting hot water and warming our outside food to helping me find a nearby tattoo shop. Our room was clean, comfortable, and just as it looked online, and we felt welcome throughout. For me, the service and overall experience make this a 5/5 hotel. Highly recommended!

The hotel looked nice and was clean, but the stay was a disappointment, especially the service. The rooms seem designed to look good, but the layout is awkward: the sink is out in the open, while the toilet and shower are behind a glass wall. That's not comfortable for two people who aren't a couple. Housekeeping made the beds but left the towels unchanged and the toilet bin full. They also tried to charge us for two bottles of water that were meant to be in our fridge. Some rooms have fridges and some don't, but ours had no bottles. Luckily, we had taken a photo.

The room was clean, the facilities modern, and the water pressure amazing. The location is right in the center. Breakfast was acceptable for something included free.

The rooftop buffet had an incredible view, and the room view was nice too. Our rooms were clean and had good facilities, including hot showers, though the hotel isn't fancy. It's close to the Morado cable car line, which makes reaching the other lines and much of the city easy. The front desk spoke English and gave us a local map and cable car guide that came in handy. Breakfast was a letdown, with dry pastries, oranges that weren't really edible, and a few other issues. The price was great for what we got, so I'd recommend it. The area didn't feel very safe, though in La Paz that seems hard to avoid.
