Manga Hostel Belém

The price is attractive and the rooms are good, but the showers had no hot water. Noise was a big problem. People were often playing loud music around the pool, turning the TV all the way up, or talking loudly. Many rooms are right beside reception and the shared areas, so the noise carries, especially after 11 p.m. A man greeted us rudely and abruptly, nobody showed me to my room, and my check-in wasn’t done until two days after I arrived at the hostel. The place also seemed a bit disorganized. After I paid the deposit for the nights, it took almost two months for them to confirm my payment and reservation. They only did so after I repeatedly insisted on getting a receipt or confirmation. My friend arrived to find that the room she’d booked and paid for a month in advance was occupied. We also went several days without Wi-Fi because it simply wasn’t working. Breakfast was very basic, just bread and very weak coffee. The price is nice, but if you’re not in the mood for parties or want a quieter stay, I’d recommend somewhere else.
