Porto Real Luz Do Sol

We felt at home as soon as we arrived, thanks to the staff being so warm and welcoming. The rooms were spotless, well kept, and very comfortable. Hotel Porto Real is family friendly, with a great atmosphere. Restaurant service was attentive, and there was a good range of tasty food for different preferences. The dining really added to our visit. We had a fantastic stay, and Hotel Porto Real exceeded what we expected. I’d recommend it for the clean rooms, good food, and helpful service.

The ocean views are great, and there’s easy access to the marina, plus a small private beach with strong waves. We rented a unit for a week while visiting residents who live at the resort long term. It was winter, so things weren’t crowded. The gated community has a decent amount of security. The driveways are quite steep, whether you’re driving or walking up. We’d stay again, but bring someone who speaks Portuguese, since almost everyone we encountered spoke no English.

I wouldn’t come back. The hotel is dirty and outdated, with poorly kept grounds and decor that feels old. Staff seemed unhappy and almost hostile, and the service had no clear standards. It’s on a hill, so getting to the facilities is difficult. There are no restaurants or shops nearby, which leaves you stuck without a car. Even the gym has limited hours. The staff were unfriendly and unaccommodating.

The location is very good, and the kitchen has almost everything. But if you’re trying not to spend much, you’ll need to bring your own food.
