The location was convenient, near the village, a bus stop, and Praia do Porto, though the surrounding neighborhood felt very run-down. Breakfast and afternoon tea were both very good. The air conditioning didn’t work properly, and the shower plumbing was blocked. Service varied a lot: some staff were lovely, while others seemed quite grumpy, which wasn’t the hospitality we expected. For what we paid, it wasn’t worth it.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve had. The pousada is spacious, clean, and in a good location, and the very attentive team made us feel welcome. It’s fantastic. I highly recommend it.

The only drawback was the shower, which didn’t have strong water pressure. That’s very common at most pousadas on the island, though, and it doesn’t take away from the top rating. The inn is great: the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, the bed is comfortable, and the sheets and towels are very clean.

The afternoon coffee was a great extra, and breakfast was delicious too. The staff were attentive and polite, while the rooms, sheets, and towels were all spotless. A really pleasant stay.
