Submarino Hostel

My four nights at Submarino Hostel turned into four weeks, and even after staying somewhere else for a while, I came back to pick up a close friend I’d met there so we could travel on together. It felt more like home than a hostel, and I’ll always treasure the memories. ❤️ Julio, the owner, was often around making sure everything was going smoothly, but it never felt like just management. The staff felt like friends, and everyone was welcomed with the same warmth and enthusiasm. The community there was unlike anything I’d experienced before. I could have stayed there forever, really. If you want somewhere that feels like home, go and see it for yourself. Thank you, Submarino!

My first hostel stay was a great one, and definitely unforgettable. It was clean, close to lots of beaches and shops, and the owner and other guests were all friendly and welcoming. I’d come back and recommend it 🫶🏼

The owner was incredibly helpful and amazing, and he’s a great DJ too. The hostel stayed clean and had a fantastic atmosphere, especially for solo travelers. It’s the best one I’ve stayed in over the last few months. Really hope I can go back.

The dorms were thoughtfully laid out and comfortable, with a light and outlet at every bed plus a large locker for each person. It’s a good spot, just a short walk from Lagoa’s bars, restaurants, and shops. We didn’t find it especially social, though that could have been down to our timing, since we were coming back late or heading out early. I’d definitely recommend it.
