Pousada La Ferrugem Suites

The staff are all very friendly, from reception and housekeeping to the cooks, and the owner, Walter, is a gem. The place feels beautiful and homey, with thoughtful touches like cleaning the room before check-in so you don't have to wait, and storing luggage if you need it. They try hard to sort out any questions or problems. Even with some really annoying guests around, they show incredible patience. There are also discounts at restaurants and dances, along with plenty of other perks. The location is handy, with a bus stop and beach access just steps away. It's a lovely place to spend time, with only minor cosmetic issues that didn't affect my stay. An inn isn't a 5-star hotel, and I think the little things are fine. This was my second visit, and I'd choose it again. Go!

The team made us feel welcome from the start, and the rooms were comfortable and cleaned regularly. Sand does build up in the bathroom, so having a broom or mop there would help. They cleaned every two days, though, and we had a really good stay. I left very happy and completely charmed by the place. Great for a relaxing break.

The location of Pousada Ferrujão and the staff's service were the only good parts of our stay. The room itself was in terrible shape: the beds were uncomfortable, the mattresses were stained and their springs felt worn out, and the sheets were yellowed, wrinkled, and torn. The small towels were rough, dingy, and yellowed too. In the bathroom, the toilet seat was broken and dirty, the tap dripped, and there was grime on the shower tiles and floor. I expect a simple inn to be welcoming and clean, and Pousada Ferrujão didn't provide that. It was the worst experience I've had.

The breakfast was generous and tasty, and there's a pool plus a shared kitchen. Best of all, the inn is literally steps from the sea.
