Pousada Mar de Sonhos

The food was amazing, easily the best in Araçatiba Cove and much better than the restaurants there. We should have eaten dinner at the Pousada every night. Our hosts took such good care of us, and the view was breathtaking. There are plenty of ways to get out hiking, including Pico de Urubu, or to snorkel from the beach or at the Green Lagoon. It's a lovely place to unwind and disconnect.

The rooms and location matched the reviews, but we chose this hotel partly because it had air conditioning, and ours wasn't working when we arrived. It was a very hot summer day on a tropical island, and the room became uncomfortable as soon as we stepped inside. The owners refused to fix it, first telling us to take a boat and enjoy ourselves outside, then saying it was possible to stay without AC. When we asked for a refund so we could move to another guest house with air conditioning, they accused us of deliberately breaking it. I still don't understand how we supposedly could have done that, and they never explained. We spent the day arguing with the owners and trying to find somewhere else to stay. In the end, they returned less than half of what we paid and were very rude. I don't usually leave comments like this, but the whole experience ruined our day and our mood.
