Pousada Alto da Lapa

We came back for a second stay and loved it again. It was already good when Vagner was looking after the place, and it’s even better now under Juvenal and his wife Isabel. They’re both so attentive and welcoming. Isabel and the other staff put real care into breakfast, with that lovely homemade country feel. The room was tidy and smelled fresh, and the place has become our peaceful little getaway.

We stayed with a large group, and all the rooms, sheets, and towels were clean and fresh-smelling. The inn is rustic rather than fancy, but very cozy and pleasant, and it delivered the services it offers. The large pool has a good depth for adults, plus a shallow splash area for children. The sauna was great. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and tasty. We’re grateful to Rosa for her kind service and for preparing the food. The kids loved the watermelon juice and rain cakes. We did have an issue with the private hot tub jets, but it was fixed right away. The host was kind and honest in the dealings.

Peace and quiet are what I remember most from my weekend at pousada alto da lapa. It’s private, with a lovely outdoor area and a breathtaking view. My room had a large, comfortable bed and a spacious, well-equipped hot tub. The water was warm, and the mountain view from the tub was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options.

A really nice place. I’d stayed here under the previous management, and it’s even better now that the management has changed.
