The fans were the main issue for me. I wanted to sleep in, but they kept being switched off by staff or cutting out when too much power was being used. When the second one stopped, I woke up struggling to breathe in the sudden heat. The cleaner also turned on the lights, which made the room feel even hotter. Sunlight already poured through the slatted ceiling windows, and in a place this hot I think those windows should be covered. The room design just doesn't work well for the heat. It was manageable for one night, but if you have the extra money and want to sleep late, I'd look for somewhere with air conditioning. Staff were nice and helped with directions, including pointing out where to go for the view. Breakfast was okay and filling if you liked the food, though I found it bland and couldn't eat much. The juice was great. Kitchen access is limited to 10am-9pm, which isn't ideal, but at least it's available, more than some places provide.

The value for the price is amazing. We were very comfortable in a clean four-bedroom room with its own bathroom and AC. The building sits on a small hill, so the view is really nice, and the hostel is close to the beach.

They charged for everything, including towels, sheets, and AC, and it felt like even a smile would cost extra since nobody seemed to care about guests. There was construction inside, so expect hammer noise early in the day. When I arrived, hot from climbing the hill, they wouldn't let me into the hostel before the 2 p.m. check-in, not even to use the kitchen or bathroom. After I complained, they canceled my reservation and told me to leave. It was a really bad experience, the worst hostel I've stayed in. I was surprised by how I was treated, especially since people in Brazil have been so nice during my stay.

Aside from the breakfast incident, it was a great hostel. I arrived five minutes late, and most of the food was gone while the staff were eating the leftovers. The breakfast lady offered to make an egg for my friend and me. When I asked whether she could make two since everything else had run out, she got rude and I ended up with half an egg. Apparently she thought she was helping.

The people were awesome, and the place itself was clean, cozy, and new. Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Great place.
