The staff are what made Casa Luz especially memorable. They were kind, attentive, and went far beyond what we expected to help my wife and me through a difficult situation. We'll never forget that care, and thank you, Luni! The setting is just as striking, with beautiful scenery and views that feel almost unreal, plus a calm atmosphere that puts you at ease. Our room was elegantly furnished and comfortable. We also loved the restaurant, especially its locally sourced food, and both breakfast and dinner were trip highlights. Casa Luz is a special place we hope to visit for years to come. Highly recommend it for a peaceful, soulful stay in Paraty.

The rooms, view, location, and food were all very good. The pool was great too, though a little small, and the lula salad at the restaurant was especially good. In general, Casa Luz offers a great experience. The two-star rating comes from what happened when we left. Our suite was one of the nicest and most secluded, right by the small beach at the bottom of a very steep hill. We told the staff the night before that we planned to leave early, then reminded them again an hour before. They repeatedly said someone would help take our bags about 100 meters up the steep stairs to reception and then another 50 or so meters to the road. When it was time to go, nobody came to help, and reception staff made no effort to sort it out, taking a “not my job, sorry” attitude. I had to hurry down and carry our 26kg luggage up the entire hill by myself while my partner looked after our young one, so we wouldn't miss our transfer. If I hadn't been fairly fit, it would've been impossible, and we'd have missed it. The way management handled this completely ruined what had otherwise been a good stay. Given this experience and the cost of suites like ours, I can't outright recommend Casa Luz.

We stayed as three friends and were sorry to leave. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the food was delicious, but the staff's kindness stood out most of all. Pamela and Heloísa helped us with all sorts of questions, even ones unrelated to our stay, and offered recommendations. This wonderful place is very close to Paraty. I hope I get to come back someday.

We enjoyed staying in the Blue Room as a couple. The hot tub looked out onto the forest, and there was also a lovely sea view. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with a cozy pool, and the service was attentive and quick to address issues. We were let down by the restaurant and breakfast, though. The food felt too basic and bland.

The setting has beautiful panoramic views of nature, and it's a special location away from town but still very close to paraty. The service was friendly and excellent, and breakfast was amazing. The boat tour to the jslamds was convenient too, with pickup right at the hotel. Highly recommend for peace and beautiful scenery.
