Citylights Hostel

The common area is great for meeting people, making friends, and cooking, and the beds are big with good showers. The amenities and infrastructure feel well thought out. The location makes it easy to get around São Paulo. Bars, restaurants, clubs, grocery stores, and drugstores are nearby, and the subway is walkable, so you can reach places in minutes without dealing with traffic or taxis. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they share news about city events so you can get a feel for the paulistan vibe. It’s a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the city as it is. I’d definitely recommend it to a friend.

The owners are five young paulistas, and they’re really helpful and nice. There’s also a dog hanging around, which is a fun extra, as you can see in the photo. I’ve stayed at a lot of hostels in South America, and this is the best one so far. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom feels like one at home. Breakfast is good too, and the price is good. It’s close to Vila Madalena, with bars and nightlife just around the corner.

Thursday nights here are great. Whatever kind of music is on, the musicians are always good.

The staff are helpful, and the place is clean and comfortable with a really good atmosphere. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in Brazil, if not the best.
