Hampton Park São Paulo Jardins

I didn't feel welcome here, and the service was bare minimum. There was no pool, and nobody explained any benefits when I arrived. The room smelled musty, had a roach, and had no American outlets, so I couldn't use my electronics. That really upset me. Communication at the front desk was rough. Restaurant staff didn't speak English, and there was no English menu, so ordering was extremely frustrating without someone local with me. Bring a translator. I also found the food disappointing: it was expensive, low quality, and had no flavor or seasoning. For Americans, this hotel is only okay at best. I'd recommend the nearby Marriott instead, which was amazing and about the same price. I wouldn't stay here.

It was very clean, but inside the place is looking worn out. The building dates from the 1980s and has 18 floors. It seems independent, and the lack of corporate standards shows. The basics are there, though the interior finishes are long overdue for renewal. Hotels take a beating and usually redo those every six or seven years. This one seems to be waiting for a new owner to invest in it.

No issues with my room. Some staff can speak English, and the top floor has a balcony with a great view and a pool. The gym equipment wasn't very good.

The garage was the hard part for me. My car was two ramps down, and when I needed something from it, I had to go down and ask someone to unlock it. Leaving the keys is standard since the garage is full, but the ramp setup bothered me. I have a bad knee, so going up and down was difficult. There's an elevator, but guests can't use it, only people who live in the building. Otherwise, everything was fine. It's a simple, clean, affordable hotel in São Paulo's business district.
