The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was nice. My room faced the street, above a karaoke bar that runs 24/7, so there was noise all night and I slept badly. Rooms numbered x01 to x03 face the street. Ask for a room at the back, with a number ending in 4 to 6.

Outside the hotel there’s a lovely, lively community, with plenty of places to shop and eat. The hotel itself was a real letdown. Staff were moody and unfriendly, and check-in felt very unwelcoming. The rooms are outdated and badly designed, with worn, grey bedding. It seems to be above a club, and the bass made the walls vibrate all night. The restaurant staff seemed as unhappy as the breakfast looked. The WiFi wasn’t fit for purpose. I couldn’t even make WhatsApp calls or use Zoom. The best thing about this hotel was leaving. Bad vibe.

The breakfast was good for a budget hotel. The air conditioning was unbelievably loud and made it almost impossible to sleep with it on. There was WiFi only in the lobby.

The check-in felt oddly old-fashioned, having to handle paper in 2017. Still, the hotel’s age didn’t bother me much: my room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the room had a new AC. Breakfast was good too, with plenty to choose from, including cakes and scrambled eggs.

The rooms were clean, but the service could be better and the neighborhood gets very loud. We stayed on a Friday, and people coming from the bars and clubs below kept making noise until around 4 a.m. Even with the windows shut on the 8th floor, we had a hard time sleeping.
