Torre Hostel

Alessandro made us feel at home straight away. He sat with us at breakfast for a good chat, like he was welcoming friends into his own house, and helped us with ideas for outings and places to go. He’d already been advising us before the trip, too. The hostel has a kitchen guests can use, and Alessandro also puts on dinners for guests at very reasonable prices, 15.00. Breakfast was full of fresh local treats from Minas Gerais. The place is cozy and clean, and our double room was spacious. It’s close to the station and only about five minutes by car from the historic center. We stayed just one night, but it was so welcoming that we’re sure we’ll return to Tiradentes and stay at Torre. There’s no sign showing where the hostel is, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. The toilet was very dirty and didn’t work. The house rules weren’t enforced well, and the owner was drinking on the day I arrived. He also comes into the room without warning, so you could be caught off guard. Breakfast was just a piece of bread and a tiny cup of coffee. I don’t recommend it at all.

The common areas are pleasant and work well for families, and the rooms are very clean and well equipped. Breakfast is a full, excellent meal. The place is cozy and comfortable, with easy access, and we felt like we were staying at a family member’s home. Alessandro’s warm welcome and friendly nature made a big difference. I’d definitely come back.

The hostel is close to the tourist area and Maria Fumaça (Train), but still has the calm of the mountains. Tiradentes is an amazing city, and this place is beautiful, clean, and full of laughter and good vibes. The breakfast was spectacular, and the internet was super fast.
