I booked through Expedia and paid upfront, then was told the place was closed for weeks because of storm damage. I’ve just walked past and there are guests staying there. I hate having my time wasted and being lied to, so I’m sharing this in case it saves someone else the trouble. Now I have to wait for Expedia to refund me, and I had to find somewhere else at short notice. Someone posted a while ago that the place overbooks and cancels the lowest-priced reservation. Seeing people there makes it seem like that may have happened again. Luckily, I found a much nicer, cheaper place nearby. I’d suggest looking for one too.

This place seems to overbook and cancel the lowest-priced reservation up to a week before the trip. We booked a room months ahead, then found out just before boarding our flight that the reservation had been canceled. Rebooking options were twice as expensive. I can’t recommend it for travelers. The place looks nice, though, since we had booked it.

I loved the stay. The place was very clean, the staff were extremely polite, and they answered all our questions. The location is great, near one of Ubatuba’s busiest tourist streets, with lots of restaurants, cafes, ice cream shops, and tours. The breakfast was amazing, and the inn looks beautiful. For a beachfront inn, it’s also good value. I loved the whole experience! My only suggestion would be more flexibility with check-in and check-out times. Still, it’s an excellent place to stay in the area.

We felt at home at Casa Melville. Jasmin helped us by phone, and the staff welcomed us so warmly. Everything was excellent: spotless cleaning, a wonderful breakfast served with care, fresh-smelling bed and bath linens, a fantastic kitchen guests can use, and a pleasant pool. The location is great too. We walked a lot and enjoyed the sea the whole time. Thanks to everyone at Casa Melville for the warm welcome and thoughtful care. We’ll definitely recommend it and come back many times. Until next time ❤️🙏
