The place seems to have started out beautifully, with detailed decorations, but now it feels completely abandoned. I can handle an old property if it's clean. Here, the cleaning was so bad it was frightening. The shower floor was absolutely disgusting. I raised it with the manager, who said the cleaner would come later. But when the place clearly hasn't been getting the attention it needs for years, it's hard to expect much. The photos look nice from a distance; in person, the neglect and terrible condition are obvious. The air conditioners are old and loud, and the curtains, TV, and furniture could all use replacing. If they can't afford to keep everything in good shape, at least keeping it clean would make a difference and show guests some respect. We wanted to leave right away. It was dark, dirty, and noisy, but we couldn't afford to pay extra for somewhere else and lose the money we'd spent, so we felt stuck staying there. Hi

The innkeeper was kind and knowledgeable. He arranged our taxi, and when our dive trip was canceled, I called him and he came to our room to tell us. At check-in, he initially put us in the Exuma Pad room, then saw our luggage and perhaps our size and moved us to the Nimini Pad because he thought we'd have more room. He also suggested Oh Andros at the Fish Fry, just a short walk away. The room was cozy and clean. They changed our towels and made the bed. The inn is in an older part of town, but beaches and downtown are within walking distance. It has a house and office on the property, brightly painted teal, purple, and white. There's a guest lounge with chairs and lots of plants, plus a swing and basketball hoop. If you want a sense of what Nassau stays might have been like 50 years ago, this old inn has that feel, and I really enjoyed my visit. It does need a lot of care and repairs. The building is falling apart, though still livable, and I imagine it was amazing 50 years ago. I don't know how long it will stay open. Both neighboring lots are vacant, and the owner might be able to sell to a wealthy developer. If you want to experience this kind of place, maybe go soon. It would be great if an investor repaired and updated it while letting the same man keep running it.

Staff were great and very friendly, and the location is convenient, close to everything. It was inexpensive, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends or family. The place is extremely old: my room needed serious ceiling work, and the bathroom was so cramped that showering comfortably was difficult. One of the two wash rags had holes, and the internet often didn't work. The second bed was sinking through its base onto the floor, so the two of us had to share the other bed.

I stayed at Arawak Inn with my mum last May, and we had a really good time. The owner was so friendly and gave us lots of tips. Our bed and towels were changed every day. The inn has an old-fashioned look, but I liked its sweet charm. It was a great spot, just steps from the famous

A welcoming host, a beautiful setting, and an island-like feel right in the heart of the city. It's on the beach, with easy access to Arawak cay.
