Tsherim Resort

The hotel and facilities have great views, and it's a little way outside town. There isn't a lift. For me, it's the best resort in Paro.

Getting to Paro town takes a bit of effort, though taxis are easy to arrange. The resort was being renovated while I was there, so I hope some of the issues will be sorted out. The people were lovely, and both breakfast and dinner were tasty with a nice mix of local and international food. My first room had a door that let in light and hallway noise, thin curtains, and a loud air conditioner that didn't cool the room, which stayed cold. There was renovation dust in the hall, and the lobby seating was awkward. I reported the problems and staff responded quickly, but the room hadn't been cleaned when I came back. They eventually moved me to another room. The team and food give the place potential, but the rooms need attention.

The food was good, including a really nice attempt at Indian flavors. Some rooms are small, while others are a good size, and ours was fine. We asked for a bonfire and they arranged it well. It's a little away from the main market, but having your own vehicle makes that no problem.

The service was good and the food was fresh and tasty. We stayed two nights, a little outside Paro's main town. The rooms felt smaller than those in other three-star hotels we've stayed at.
