I needed reliable internet, but the Wi-Fi here was so bad I couldn't get a stable connection. I told them I had to cancel, yet they charged me one night's rent as a cancellation fee. Their listing promised Wi-Fi, and some people depend on internet for work. Don't claim to provide it if it doesn't work, and don't charge the customer when the problem is yours. I also didn't feel secure in this shabby part of town. The room itself wasn't too bad, though it wasn't very comfortable. It was reasonable for the price. Still, I'm done with budget hotels and would rather pay another $15 a night for somewhere better. Edit: Thanks for replying. It was a clear day with no weather problems. I moved to another hotel, only a ten-minute walk away, and the internet there worked fine. Your weather explanation might make sense if the weather had been bad, but it wasn't. I think you have cheap internet service and should upgrade it if you're going to offer internet to guests.

The sheets, towels, and bathroom were clean, and the air conditioning worked great. The rooms could use some TLC, though. Someone kept slamming their door at night as if nobody else was there. Staff were friendly and helpful, easily the best part. It's close to the ferry terminal, a bank, and a small grocery store.

I felt safe here because the hotel is well secured, even though the area can feel a little sketchy at night. It's conveniently located, and every floor has balconies facing the canal. The place is well maintained, staff are easy to reach and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable.

The AC worked and the staff were great. They held my bag before check-in, got me the extra two blankets I asked for, and did laundry for a fee. I walked to the markets, taxi stand, water taxis, and street food. There isn't any heat, so ask for blankets. There were mosquitoes in the room, but staff brought a coil and most of them went away.

We had a lovely time at the Belccove Hotel. The atmosphere was wonderful, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I'd go back if I'm ever in Beliz City!
