The restaurant food was good, though the wait staff were a little overzealous. We were upgraded to a huge, rather strange suite; it was clean and the bed was comfortable. They arranged a car to Altun Ha and called the driver a “guide,” but he could barely communicate anything beyond what was written in the museum, which was a big disappointment. There's no pool or gym yet, so it'll be good once the building work is finished and those are added.

Our room was spacious, new, and clean, and the staff were nice. The outside wasn't in great shape while renovations were going on. It's close to the city's “centre” and the Belize museum, but the neighborhood doesn't have much to see. I found it a bit overpriced, especially since breakfast isn't included and is a la carte.

01/29/2026 The hotel is open while construction is underway, with very loud work starting on an entire new building beside the current one. We had no idea how much construction there'd be when we booked, and felt we'd been screwed. We overpaid for the room and just wanted a quiet evening before traveling home. Don't be fooled into booking here during construction.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I used the attached shop. It's got a great range of things at reasonable prices, including official Beliken merchandise. There's a little food section in the back with fresh and dried Asian goods, tofu included.

Construction begins at 7:30am sharp. They don't disclose the start time before booking or at check-in, so I wanted to mention it here. I need to update my review, though. As we were heading to the airport, the staff found my expensive headphones and went out of their way to send them there with their driver to meet us. It really saved the day. Thanks again.
