Blue Bay Cottage

The apartment had everything we needed, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Francis was very attentive to details and always easy to reach. Thank you for the lovely conversations and for all your help! We truly enjoyed staying at Hidden Treasure (bay blue cottages). Its name fits: this is one of the most peaceful, blissfully quiet places on the island. The soft sunbeds on the private beach, looking out across the bay, were perfect for unwinding. Absolute perfection.

We stayed in the cottage with a king bed and AC. It was clean, with a good bed and shower, and easily deserves its own five-star review. Francis, who owns and runs the place, was one of the best hosts I’ve ever had. He knows the area well and runs a great snorkeling and boat tour company. He made my wife and me feel very well looked after. I’d give the place six stars if I could.

Francis and his staff are amazing. The houses are comfortable, with great WiFi and a great ocean view. Restaurants and supermarkets are a five-minute walk away, and there’s a kitchen for making breakfast and starting the day on your own schedule. The key point for me is that Francis was born on the island and still lives here. The reviewer says 99% of the hostels are American or Chinese. If you want to support local entrepreneurs, you should choose Francis and his property.

The quiet made this such a lovely place to stay, and we really enjoyed the sunset from the pleasant back part of the property. The two free bikes were handy too. We stayed in one of the two Bay Blue Suites beneath Francis's apartment, and the soundproofing was absolutely guaranteed. Francis puts a lot of care into the style, convenience, and furnishings of the houses he builds himself. He was attentive and very customer-friendly, even letting us choose when cleaning would happen. He offered to pick us up at the airport or harbor, then arranged a covered taxi to the harbor when storm Sara was approaching. There are a few completely normal house rules, and treating him and his property respectfully goes both ways. The whole Vacation Home feels like a hidden treasure. We loved our stay and can only recommend it. Thanks again, Francis.
