Mayan Falls

The rooftop views were amazing, and we nearly enjoyed the swim up bar just as much. The pool was great to have and got cleaned every morning. Mayan Falls isn’t in the town center, which we liked, but it was still a simple, quick walk to anything we needed. We stayed about a week and enjoyed every minute. Nick, Jordan, and the staff were wonderful and so accommodating, providing anything we needed and plenty of area recommendations. Our room was perfect for two, with a kitchenette and full size fridge. Would definitely recommend, and we’ll stay again!

The pool was amazing, clean, peaceful, and relaxing. The other guests I met there were all wonderful. Mayan Falls is further south than other resorts and a little off the beaten path, which suited me: fewer rowdy tourists around, but attractions still nearby. La Sirenita, a nice little hole in the wall bar, is next door for a night cap. The hotel is directly beside the airport, but there are so few departures that it doesn’t matter too much. The facilities were clean. I stayed in the Yax Suite bedroom, which was very clean and had the softest sheets. My guest said the new futon and cover in the living area were very comfortable. I really loved the accommodation, though I wish there had been more towels, ideally one bath towel and one pool towel. I also think the bathroom window needs curtains. Several times the neighbors could easily see inside from their upper deck, unless there was film on the windows, but I couldn’t tell.

The room was a good size, the a/c was great, and I loved having a pool. The owner and staff communicated well whenever I needed something, and gave lots of recommendations for pretty much anything you might want to do while visiting. The location worked perfectly for me, an easy walk or bike ride to the island’s main hub. 10/10 recommend! I loved my stay and will be back for sure.

These are basic, no frills accommodations, pretty Spartan. The rooms are sufficient, and the beds comfortable enough. They’re not spotlessly clean, but clean enough and bug free. Some things around the property can’t be helped, like the very loud late night patrons at the bar next door. If “sufficient” is what you’re after, this is the place.
