Cassia Hill Resort

The property was lovely to wander around, and the pool stayed clean and uncrowded. Our rooms were modern, clean, and well equipped, with an outdoor shower that was a fun extra. We especially appreciated the restaurant’s varied, tasty food. The staff made such a difference. They were so welcoming that we felt like friends by the time we left. Thanks to Carlos, Kristie, Kareem, and the rest of the team. It’s about a 20-minute walk to town, which gives the resort a private feel while keeping it convenient. I’d happily return.

We were glad the staff got up early to make breakfast before our morning tour, and it was delicious. Everyone was super friendly and genuinely happy to greet us. The place was quiet, and it seemed like the guests respected its peaceful setting. Our rustic little lodge had plenty of room and came with air conditioning, a fridge, coffee, and TVs. We lounged in the hammock now and then, though we didn’t get a chance to use the lovely pool. I’d recommend it if you’re fine staying a little outside the main town. Taxis are advised.

Abby at the front desk really looked after us, and Carlos, who works night security, also served as our astronomy guide. Everyone was lovely, and we felt cared for throughout the trip. Carlos even gave us a shuttle back to Belize City, an option I’d recommend 10/10. The resort is about 10 minutes from town, so taxis are handy and the staff helped arrange one. It’s surrounded by beautiful nature and quiet gardens. We loved the infinity pool, watching shooting stars at night, and hearing howler monkeys in the morning.

Our family of five fit comfortably in the One Room Family Suite, which we booked through Expedia. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and smart TV for streaming. The private outdoor patio shower was a fun bonus alongside the regular indoor one. We also enjoyed coffee on the front porch in the morning and beers there in the evening, with a garden view over the grounds. The grounds were pretty, and there was plenty of space to park our rental car. The pool was beautiful, and we ate at the restaurant twice, bringing to-go drinks back to the room. It made a good base for visiting Tikal, Caracol, and Xunantunich from San Ignacio. Staff were friendly. The location worked well with a car, though the only walkable restaurant is the one on site.
