We stayed two nights at River Park Inn in San Ignacio while crossing Belize on our way from Mexico to Guatemala. After landing in Belize City, we arranged a private transfer straight there. The inn is simple and rustic for the price, but welcoming, and the family who run it are lovely. Bing was especially helpful. He can arrange a car transfer to the border, and his sewing and alterations service even got our trousers mended. The location worked well for us. A supermarket, a chicken fast-food place, restaurants and coffee shops are nearby, and it’s under a 10-minute walk into town. There’s free coffee and water at reception, and the grounds are green and lush. We spotted toucans in the nearby trees, which was a highlight, and there’s a friendly dog on site too. Thanks, Bing, for helping us get across the border into Guatemala. We really appreciated it.

Trees and a peaceful, nature-like feel make this a nice place to get some quiet. It’s within walking distance of central San Ignacio, with a park and restaurants nearby. The amenities made for a restful night, and River Park Inn is a very good option when you’re in town.

The owner and manager was very friendly and helpful. The yard looks nice, and the coffee downstairs was great. The rooms were fine.

I don’t usually write reviews, but River Inn deserves one. Bing and his family made our stay in San Ignacio, a special part of the world, feel extra personal. They did thoughtful little things, like bring fresh fruit from the garden and mend my favorite shirt without me even asking. The location is just right if you want to be near the town center while away from the bustle. My partner and I loved staying here, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a homely place in San Ignacio.

This Belizean-owned property is a nice place to get away from the noise in town. It’s about 12 minutes from San Ignacio Town, with Chicken Express and a superstore just 3 minutes away. The rooms are standard but clean, and there’s a pleasant verandah to sit and relax on.
