Casa del Rai

We were close to shops, restaurants, bars, and dive shops, and the rooftop had beautiful sea views. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with strong AC. Darwin, Karen, Maileen, and everyone else on staff were so welcoming and helpful. They offer airport pickups and drop-offs, help book tours and activities, and have golf carts to rent on site. While my friend was diving, Darwin even took it upon himself to arrange her ferry ticket to Caye Caulker. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

The property was clean, well cared for, and a comfortable base for exploring the island. We felt secure, and it was handy being able to rent a cart that we could park behind the gate. Aileen, Randy, and the staff were friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Our family had a wonderful stay. The place was just as described, and our 4yo spent lots of time in the pool. We also enjoyed the rooftop area and the two patios off our condo.

We stayed for a week while exploring Belize, and the rooftop pool and patio were great for the views and a break from the heat. Casa del Rai is a block from the beach, with restaurants, bars, and fishing and snorkeling guides nearby. Renting one of their golf carts made getting around the caye simple. Aileen, Randy, and Darwin were friendly, accommodating hosts with lots of useful suggestions for local restaurants, fishing guides, and snorkeling. Our rooms were clean, in good shape, and everything worked as it should. Street traffic and local dogs were the only downsides, both outside the hosts’ control. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs or something for white noise. I’d absolutely stay here again. Thanks, Casa del Rai!

The rooftop pool and bar are a glorious, fairly private spot. From there, we watched the reef break and caught both sunsets and sunrises, with a 360° view of the city. Casa del rai also has newer golf carts for rent with really comfortable seats, five-gallon water jugs on site, and laundry service. The gardens are full of beautiful flowers, the resident turtle is adorable, and Leticia, the housekeeper, is really sweet. We stayed in the three-bedroom unit. It had a nice layout, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and good pillows. You don’t need to cook much in San Pedro since there’s good food everywhere. The place is walkable to groceries, bars, the beach, and just about everything else. The dogs barked a lot during our first week, which was annoying but tolerable. Bring earplugs. It’s common around San Pedro, and wouldn’t stop us staying again. We happened to sit with Aileen on the flight to Belize city, which was funny and great. They picked us up at the airport and drove us to the ferry on our sad departure day. I’d recommend staying with Aileen and Randy for a comfortable visit with great people.
