The room was too hot, and since the window wouldn’t open, it took a while to find a fan. The electric clock didn’t work, the table was wobbly, the TV sat too high, and the toilet was dirty. Bed bugs were my main concern, so we eventually moved to another room, which was acceptable. I paid $100 including breakfast, but that was a nightmare: little choice, food that didn’t seem fresh, bad tasting cereal, rotten apples, a bag of toast, and only warm coffee. The room and service weren’t worth the price.

I’d been a bit nervous after reading the online ratings, but was pleasantly surprised. The hallways are somewhat dated, and the bathroom is small, but the room was clean and comfortable for the price. I accidentally left my car trunk open overnight and woke up to find my tools and smokes still there. I’d definitely stay again.

The room was clean, but that was about the only positive. For the price, the place felt pretty ghetto. It was so hot inside it felt like a sauna, and the broken window seemed like a fire hazard. The bathroom was tiny and breakfast was awful. It was only a cold breakfast, and my husband’s boiled egg was green inside. Eew. Wouldn’t stay again.

We chose this hotel because it was closest to our concert and the rates were similar to other nearby places. We only needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours, and knew it wasn’t a five star hotel. The reviews hadn’t mentioned any major issues or bed bugs, and I thought Travelodge would be safer than a cheap motel. When we got back from the concert and lay down, my partner spotted three bugs on the pillow beside him. We checked and realized they were bed bugs. The night auditor offered to move us, but I pointed out we could carry them to another room. The second room didn’t look clean, and I didn’t feel comfortable staying, so we left our luggage behind because it was contaminated. We called around and the next available place was the Quality Inn, a $60 cab ride away, with a higher rate. We had none of our things. In the morning we returned, collected our bags, and got garbage bags to seal our belongings. The manager/owner kept insisting they had no bed bugs while I showed her one I’d caught in a bag and photos of them. She didn’t apologize or offer to help with our bags, and made it sound as if we’d brought them. Once home, it took 5-6 hours to wash and heat treat everything. We were still worried we’d missed something and brought them into our home. I filed a complaint with the Travelodge customer line. They said they’d respond within 7 business days, but didn’t, so I called. Account supervisor Jessica, who said policy wouldn’t allow her to give her last name, told me the hotel had told the complaint department there were no bed bugs, despite the photos I’d sent. She was rude and didn’t apologize. She said I’d already been refunded for the night and asked what more I wanted. Then she said I should read reviews more carefully next time, because one review said there were bed bugs and I should have booked elsewhere. She repeated that I should read reviews better. I found no indication of bed bugs when I read the reviews. The price was the same as other hotels in the area, so I wouldn’t have expected this problem based on the rate. I’ll never stay at Travelodge again and will tell people I know that this company has no standards.

We booked this place because it was affordable. The door had to be slammed to shut, disturbing other guests, and the owner wouldn’t even look at it. There were blood stains on the nightstand drawer. Then we found someone in the parking lot whom we believed to be deceased. Staff knew about it and hadn’t even called paramedics. It showed total disregard for guests and human life. Don’t go here. The owner should lose the franchise and the place should be shut down. I uploaded photos of the blood stain on the night table drawer, but it seems the owner keeps deleting them. That’s just a drop in the bucket next to all the horrible reviews.
