Hôtel & Spa Le Germain Charlevoix

Le Germain hotels usually provide a very good experience. The rooms are well maintained, though the floor in ours needed dusting, and the usual coffee pods were provided. Check the bed size before booking: the beds are relatively narrow, and in our room the TV screen sat right at the foot of the bed, which is debatable. The Spa costs $60/person, but with just a hot and cold pool, it didn't seem like a great deal. There are plenty of FLO chargers for electric cars, plus a large TESLA section near the train gate beside the hotel. The restaurants are a bit pricey, so we ate at local restaurants instead.

Right in the heart of Quebec's hidden gem, this is a very nice hotel. I enjoyed the unique, fun room design, dining options, thermal spa and the fun the cows offered. The one downside is that they tend to nickel and dime guests over minor things, like forgotten razors or spa slippers.

We felt welcome as soon as we arrived, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. The room had a wonderfully relaxing feel, especially when we could watch the stars through the huge windows at night. We also enjoyed seeing the farm animals and having brunch at Les Labours on site, with its huge selection of breakfast classics.

The setting is nice, but the spa doesn't have enough room for the number of people admitted. It gets busier as the day goes on, so I'd suggest arriving as early as possible. By 4 pm, we left because there was barely anywhere to sit and read. The quiet room felt too small and awkwardly laid out, and they should add another one and cap attendance at a reasonable number for the facility. The outdoor spa pools aren't deep enough, or aren't filled enough. When you sit in them, your shoulders stay out of the water, and in winter it's too cold, so you end up having to kneel on the spa floor.
